The Golden Braid is evolving. What began as a dream for the original owner, Jackie Pratt—of creating a shop in Salt Lake City where community members could gather and access books and products that would enrich their lives—has become a fixture in the city.
The Braid has evolved from a tiny shop on Broadway to a beautifully constructed site on 5th East which is also home to our sister restaurant, Oasis Café. Oasis Café serves brunch and dinner seven days a week. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are still available and the Chef has also added a few responsibly-sourced meat options.
The things that have not changed are our commitment to diversity in our book and product selections, dedication to fair trade and ethically-sourced items, and pledge of environmentally sustainable practices.
